I teach acoustic guitar and mandolin and can tailor lessons to a number of different styles and interests (including folk, traditional Scottish/Irish, acoustic strumming, bluegrass, jazz and more). I generally teach from my flat in Fenham. Lessons are friendly and informal, starting with a half hour session where we can discuss interests/aspirations. I create my own teaching material specifically for each pupil including tab/notation and theory information sheets. I recently graduated with first class honours in Folk & Traditional Music at Newcastle University, and I have experience teaching for organisations including the Sage Gateshead, Halsway Manor Young Musicians, Scots Music Group and Feis Fhoirt.
